Kenyan foreign affairs minister out of order in fighting the US envoy

The Kenyan foreign affairs minister Moses Wetangula recently told off the US ambassador to Kenya Michael Rannerberger after his country’s stance against the Electoral Commission of Kenya (ECK) officials.
US banned the ECK commissioners from travelling to America after a recent survey of last years’ general election which has painted a bleak picture of the commission which was responsible for the overall results of the election. The commission has in different ocassions been blamed for chaos that rocked the country early this year and said to have failed in its mandate.
However, this is not the first time Wetangula and Rannerberger are rubbing shoulders the wrong way.
What Wetangula should know is that he is out of order and he is going too far after doing almost the same thing when Kenya was on fire after the disputed elections.

What Wetangula should learn is,
“How to press the right buttons to avoid embarrassing himself and going against the wish of Kenyans”

Wetangula is trying to impress someone thinking that he will be there forever,he wants to make an impression of a true statesman which he is not

Hei Duncan i quite agree with you but should we sit down and see people decide how our country should be? again if ECK is to be reprimanded i guess all the politicians as well as the president and PM should taste the same medicine they all participated ECK is just a scape goat and after all Wetangula is executing his statemanship role he cannot afford to lose his job, a foreign affairs minister is there to respond to any step taken against his country, and whatever the issue is he has to defend his country. Thats my thought.

your are right Rose but you will have to agree with me that when the accord was signed early this year,we had just gone past one of the obstacles that we had,in so doing we had made a step ahead and then this government formed from this accord agreed to form a commission to investigate the problem and find out where the problem was and possible measures,as a government, the aim was to avoid future problems like the one that befell us,if this was the intention of the Kriegler commission and the government, then my verdict is that the ECK should go because we cannot start saying that even the politicians should also step aside when the commission that was formed to investigate this issue only zeroed in on the ECK and the old system of government,so to speak,The President and the PM reached a compromise and them being the team leaders they deserved it because Kenyans couldn’t hold them accountable because it is the very Kenyans that agreed to be misused first in messing up the Elections ad in violence.

To me the ECK has overstayed in the system which needs dire refresh and if we are to refresh that we need a new ECK so that in future Bogus leaders are not voted in and this will avert violence and who knows, maybe the life of Kenyans will change thereafter due to good leadership.

For wetangula,i object, why hasn’t he stood for the muslims who have over the years been discriminated and taken prisoners to other countries in the name of terrorism? This isn’t what statesmanship means my dear sister.

Wetangula might be a learned friend but he is a foolish diplomat,he doesn’t know how to act gentlemanly,he always puts his ego ahead of natural demands,i think a good example was Danson Mungatana,he used to pull stints like Wetangula’s so that he gets favour with the president.this they forget gives them negative publicity and in the long run they lose and might end up brushing the wrong shoulders
