Nov 04, The day when America will have a referendum against the Bush presidency

United States :

The Obama camp wants Nov. 4 to be a referendum on the Bush presidency, the closest they can come to running against the incumbent.
In such elections, challengers must persuade most voters to do two things: Be open to firing the incumbent and agree the challenger is acceptable.
If they succeed at both, the incumbent — or in this case, presumably, his party — loses.
This is the strategy.

He is going nowhere, his name is..JOHN MacBush.

And someone thought that He was John MacCain.

With John MacBush it will be 8 more years of killing Americans in Iraq,8years of making America a dictator,8years of sorrow in America and lastly 8years of taking America Backwards.
Not allowed at all,Bush’s tenure should be the last that Americans will have.

8more years of poor publicity for America,8more years of America being a Monopoly in the world.

What a sham! How many years has the US had 100,000+ troops in Iraq?.....5. How many U.S. soldiers have died? About 4,300. Is that a tragedy? yes, it is sad and terrible when anyone dies in battle. It is a high number? No, not in the least. Our military should be applauded for how they have protected their own. 4,300 deaths occurred in one week as recently as the Vietnam war. So please, let’s not take the ”killing of Americans in Iraq” out of proportion. More people die of animal attacks or car accidents annually in the US than they have in Iraq in 5 years.
”Not allowed at all,Bush’s tenure should be the last that Americans will have.”

steve i think by ’Not allowed at all,Bush’s tenure should be the last that Americans will have.” what Duncan means is that John MacBush will go on the Bush style.

And America cannot afford to have even an extra day of the Bush administration.

an extra day?No.....America can’t afford an extra hour with a Bush administration when Obama is alive.

I am an American and would be fine with McCain for 4-8 years, I would even be fine with Bush for 4 more. Barack may be a decent president but he could also be a complete disaster.
Nevertheless, things aren’t looking too hot for your boy Barack right now. He could’ve just had the worst 24 hour period of his political life yesterdy.

I don’t think that is a great deal for MacCain, let him enjoy the lead while he can because Barack is cooling off a bit and he is going to take his space soon, and this time he will drive at 360km/h and MacCain will see thick dust.

I prefer McCain’s more free-market mentality (thought it is not as free market as I would like).
I prefer his experience over Barack. Barack has no more significant experience than Palin.
I prefer the fact he is a moderate republican, as oppossed to Obama not being at all a centrist. Additionally, the fact that the legislature will be controlled by the democratic party, I prefer a republican in the white house. It is never good when one party controls both the executive and legislative branch.
I prefer McCain’s judgement on Judicial appointments. I want judges that enforce law, not create it. (BTW, Bushes SC appointments were among the best ever)
I prefer Sarah Palin over Joe Biden (and John MCCain and Barack Obama).
I prefer John’s abortion stance over Obama, Obama once (recently) supported Live Birth Abortion.
At the same time, I think Barack would be healthier for the U.S. in our dealings with other countries. and that is a big deal to me. BUt not enough to overcome my disagreements with him.
Overall, I am not thrilled by John McCain. I was completely on the fence regarding my vote until Sarah Palin was chosen as the VP. I am a Mitt Romney guy, I don’t have the highest regard for McCain, but I do prefer him over Obama. Sure, Obama is a fresh face and vibrant and can give a heck of a speech, but it does not qualify him for President. The Dems would have been better off nominating Hillary.

steve,do you think in Obama we only have a good speech?

The thing is , Obama is pretty well is just a man with a good speech. What has he accomplished in his 4 years in the Senate?
........crickets......
Answer: absolutely nothing. Half of his time he has been running for President. So let’s not act like Obama is qualified. That doesn’t mean he can’t run and that people shouldn’t vote for him, it just means he has no experience and for me, that is a big deal.

Oh I VERY MUCH prefer Sarah Palin’s experience and approach on Energy Policy. Rumor has it, McCain will make her his energy czar if he wins. Good stuff. We need to drill in ANWR, drill off our coasts, promote nuclear power, invest in alternative sources (wind, solar, etc — why not put huge solar power farms in the Nevada valleys that are desolate and not useful in the least?). Barack has not been specific on energy, he just says we need to not be beholden to foreign oil and that we need alternative sources, but gives no solutions to fix the issue in the short and medium term. Realistically, short and medium term energy fixes must include oil and nuclear, they are proven sources of energy.

Does this mean that even sarah palin is fit to be the US president than MacBush and Obama?from your opinion.
2 Stars
steve swint doesn’t know that Duncan, maybe you should asked him this simple question, Aren’t all these people using words to convince America to vote for them?because i realize they have an issue with Obama speeches, instead of asking Obama to help them out there, they want to say his is just a presidency based on words but they forget that it is words they are using to fight Obama and secure the Whitehouse.
1 Stars
Of course it is through words in which the white house is won. The American voters are fickle, but McCain can back his words up, largely anyway. Most of Barack’s words are lacking experience to back them up.
2 Stars
’Most of Barack’s words are lacking experience to back them up’ what do you mean by this. which experience backs words in this case?

First of all, anyone with any integrity of opinion would know that Bush and McCain are vastly different. They pretty much have only agreed on Iraq. But on many other issues important to American’s, McCain has consistently been oppossed to Bush’s views.
2nd, no, Palin is not more fit to be President than McCain. I would argue that she is equally fit with Obama, if not a bit more so. At least Palin has been a leader, had to establish and manage a multi-billion dollar budget, fight oil and gas big wigs, and actually led a state. Obama has zero executive experience. I think that McCain adding a governor to the ticket was smart and what we need. I am not thrilled with two senators on one ticket (obama/biden), two guys that have no executive experience and largely never had to make a tough and risky decision.

When Bush decided to take troops to Iraq did he have prior knowledge that he was making a mistake?the answer is no. And this brings me to my point, you don’t have to have been on the platform before for you to make a better presentation, you could just enter the platform from nowhere and make a better presentation than the people you found there who had been used to that platform, but lacked the knowledge and power to give the audience a good show.
