The Electoral Commission of Kenya is solely responsible for the flaws in last year’s General Election,and the blood bath that Kenyans engaged in as a result.

And the public no longer has confidence in the commission. Justice Kriegler who headed the commission that investigated the causes of violence after last year’s election warned there was need to re-brand the ECK to avoid Kenyans, perception of the commission as it is, we all know that the mention of the name ECK elicits bad memories to kenyans,and this is the reason why the electoral body should totallybe overhauled.

And to put things straight,the new look commission should be smaller so as to reduce the number of commissioners who at the end of the day seem useless to the system.

The commissioners should be selected in an open and inclusive manner to avoid misuse of their mandate.
